Storage Guide
Peptide Storage
Recommendations to preserve the molecular integrity of your peptides after receipt.
General principles
Peptides are sensitive molecules affected by temperature, light and moisture. Proper storage ensures their purity and stability throughout their useful life. This guide outlines best practices to follow as soon as you receive your package.
Temperature
Depending on peptide state
Lyophilised — long term
Store at −20 °C in a freezer. Lyophilised powder remains stable for several years at this temperature.
Lyophilised — short term
Can be kept at 2–8 °C in a refrigerator for a few weeks to a few months.
Reconstituted
Once dissolved, store strictly at 2–8 °C in a refrigerator. Use within 3 months of reconstitution.
Protection
Shield from degradation factors
Light
Keep away from direct light, especially UV rays. Amber vials provide additional protection.
Moisture
Keep the vial sealed and the desiccant in place until use. Moisture accelerates degradation.
Freeze-thaw cycles
Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Aliquot upon reconstitution if necessary.
Reconstitution
Preparing the solution
- 01Use bacteriostatic water or sterile water for injection.
- 02Let the solvent flow slowly down the side of the vial without vigorous shaking.
- 03Wait a few minutes for the peptide to dissolve completely.
- 04Never shake the vial — gently roll it between your palms instead.
Reconstitution is a critical step: an unsuitable solvent or overly vigorous shaking can irreversibly damage the peptide structure.
